Saturday 8th February - short pleasure session River Kenn

I had a 4 hour session on the River Kenn this morning on peg 35 above Strode Rd. Bridge. Fished peg 7 on Thursday but only had one bite and lost a good fish after the hook pulled out. Only had one perch just under 2lbs before 10:30 then as the river slowed down (tidal) I managed 2 more decent perch, a 3lb pike, 5lb plus bream and a 2lb tench all on wag and mag. Meanwhile down on peg 15 Paul Tedman Whitemore had 2 bites on the lead and connected with one ... a 4lb 13oz chub which was witnessed. The Kenn can break you but can also bring you joy if you can tolerate standing in the mud this time of year. Wonder where the roach are?

Not bad ...about 15lbs

Pauls Chub, got to be a record for the River

No fishing tomorrow due to the storm but hope to get out mid week followed by the Port Talbot Open on the 16th Feb.
