Started fishing at 10:00 just after the tide had turned, I always feel its important to check the tides.
Fished 3 pegs above Strode Rd Bridge in Clevedon.
Stood down in the mud rather than sit up on the bank with only a bait waiter, keep net, landing net and rod rest down at water level. The level of the river is dropped during the winter by some 5 foot.
The run off was pretty fast so adjusted the depth with the 3AA Waggler to hold back just tripping bottom. Continuously fed red maggot every trot down.
Hook size was an 18 to 0.10 fluro alough I did step up to a 18 forged hook to 0.12 halfway through the session.
2 roach went 2lb and 2lb 1oz and another over 1lb plus a few smaller samples.
1 perch went 2lb 9oz
3 big hybrids
11 tench
Total weight 52lbs
Packed up at 15:00 as 3 other Club members weighed in for me.
This was my 3rd session of 2019 on the River Kenn.
1st session 45lb bream
2nd session was a blank
3rd session 52lbs
Incredible.
